Barbie Latza Nadeau @BLNadeau 14hThis is the hardest story I have ever had to write about a dear colleague who is gone too soon. Legendary journalist and friend @csdickey has died in Paris and we at @thedailybeast are devastated. https://www.thedailybeast.com/legendary-foreign-correspondent-chris-dickey-dies-in-paris

He had a difficult childhood and was the son of James Dickey, yet went on to find his own voice and accomplish important work.

I hope he's reunited in a better place with his father James Dickey, author of the "Deliverance" novel and a slew of worthwhile poetry.

...hell of a legacy for Chris to follow.
Christopher an author, as well:
"His range as a writer and reporter was evident in the seven books he published. His first, With the Contras: A Reporter in the Wilds of Nicaragua in 1986, recalled his days covering conflict there. He wrote nonfiction books about foreigners in Arabia in 1990, counterintelligence efforts by the New York Police Department in 2009, an Englishmans role in the Confederacy during the Civil War in 2015, and novels in 1997 and 2004."
