Watching Rachel and Dr. Mary Trump last night, I found the last minutes chilling and horrifying.

The fact that the question "Are you afraid?" clearly had to be asked is further evidence of how far we have fallen. "Are you afraid that the person in the WH will react like a mob boss or autocratic thug and kill you?" is the unspoken rest of that question.

Dr. Trump was very clear, and very brave in her answer. She knows, knew when she decided to write, what could happen. I salute her.

into a dictatorship requires a two term presidency. As tRump’s chances of a second term becomes increasingly remote the timeline has to be dangerously compressed, giving the impression of a cornered rat. Check out the Pinochet like street disappearances of Portland, OR peaceful protesters. Expect more of this nationally. Just my paranoia on display.

until the optimum time to tell her story, after the primaries were over with, and progressives would feel like they had a few spare bucks to give her for being a burr under her uncle's saddle.

I don't need Mary Trump to tell me what an asshole Donald Trump is. Anybody who needs a bit more persuasion to come to that conclusion should be able to get it from Joe Biden and his running mate this fall.

with the conservatives you're talking about. They don't believe her, and won't believe her, whereas I already know that Trump is poison. I just don't need to see Mary Trump becoming a millionaire in the process.

We're being suckered, in my opinion. All of the interview time taken up by Mary Trump should be going to Joe Biden or those considered to be on his short list of running mates. I'm much more interested in what they have to say.

Until she found about about the fraud committed by her aunt and uncles in their roles as trustees.

There is a trump family inner circle and an outer circle. Outer circle people seem pretty normal, kind of like her dad. Inner circle are the creeps. I've got a little personal experience with a situation like that. Try not to hold the outer circle in the same contempt the inner circle deserve.

My mother did the same sort of thing to her father that trump did to Fred. She took advantage of his illness and infirmity to manipulate him into changing the break down of his estate to her and her daughter's favor. In the process she completely cut out my grandfather's younger brother who was desperately trying to hold his family together in a town that had just gotten destroyed by the demise of the railroad. I got screwed as well and yet when I tried to reach out to my great uncle's family they completely shunned me.

Dr. Trump also said "I know he's in a position of great power and I know my family to be quite vindictive, and Donald has a rather passionate following. But that aside, I felt I needed to do this, I felt it was my responsibility, my obligation. And whatever the consequences are, I'm prepared to deal with them as best I can."

Rachel also mentioned that she asked the WH about Dr. Trump's claim of Donald using the N word and other antisemetic slurs that the WH responded "this is a book of falsehoods...POTUS doesn't use those words". Rachel pointed out that Mary Trump's claim about Donald's language didn't appear in the book, it only was brought out in the interview (and upon pressing several times by Rachel). I bring this up because Mary Trump would have LED with that information in the book if her only intention was to smear or be vindictive.

authoritarian scum like Putin, Kim, and Duterte is because they intimidate, jail, and assassinate their political opponents.

Trump very badly wants to be able to do this. (Reports from Portland indicate some trial runs being attempted.) If he steals the election, I would think those sorts of things will shift into high gear.
