Socialism vs. Fascism: which one should terrify you

Socialism vs. Fascism: which one should terrify you
Don't be afraid of the wrong things.

Fascism has its faces (it's not pretty): Hitler, Mussolini, and Franco are the most well known. They reigned terror on the world during the early 20th century. They answered to no one and they punished their critics. They weren't "above the law"; they (were) the law.....and 80 million people died. They often wear military garb to all public events. They need armed guards and military parades to remind their citizens of their power. A totalitarian leader says things like:

"Adam Schiff needs to pay a price for demeaning my presidency".

"Pay a price?" In a fascist society or a totalitarian society like we have in China you can be punished severely for merely disagreeing with the government. Freedom of speech doesn't exist. We are heading in that direction when Presidents are regularly trying to bully the courts to prevent books from being published that are critical of that President. That is something Putin might do or the leader of an Islamic sect that wants people who challenge Allah to "pay a price".

That was breathtaking!

Socialism is an entirely different word. It is nuanced. It is like the word "regulated" or "tall". Those words are very subjective. They say very little in terms of specifics. The U.S. has embraced "Socialism" for almost the last 100 years. Surprise!

Does being pulled off the street and beaten frighten you or does a National Health Service scare you to death?

It's beyond me why conservatives can throw the word "socialism" at us without regard to what it really means, but if we call trump a fascist, they say we're going way overboard. He's a lot closer to fascism than any Democrat is to being a socialist (including Bernie).

Americans like free enterprise, and very few of them want a more powerful government, which is what Socialism is.

The 'selling of Socialism to replace a Democratic Repuplic is frightening. The lovely chatter about free stuff availible via Socialism is the bag of magic beans.
They aren't ever telling the reality of living in a society where govt determines it all.
Socialism is also the most easily corruptable.

Venezuela is Socialist. Does it looke like a govt you want to live your life under?

Socialist Countries:
*People's Republic of China, Communist Party of China

*Republic of Cuba, Communist Party of Cuba

*Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lao People's Revolutionary Party

*Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Communist Party of Vietnam

More..

The selling of Socialism as a utopian, KumByYa govt is a lie.

NO THANKS.

Thre are people in such countries who would give up all they had to take root in America.

I have a frightening suspicion of any one group pushing to trade our Democratic Republic for either Socialism or Fascism.

They are both far beneath what we have now.
What needs to be changed for good, is replacing & strengthening the regulations that have been gutted.

Strengthen what we have.
Replacing it with a system such as socialism is appalling.

The marketing of Socialism is a big fat sugar coated lie.

autocratic regimes to work. Both ignore self preservation which is the first law of nature. Humans are part of a long evolution that has never and could have never evolved a species that was really socialist. The only socialist species have the same genetics and are ruled by a queen. The US has social welfare programs, not socialism. Most businesses are regulated, not owned by government.
The definition of socialism

Socialism is a political, social, and economic philosophy encompassing a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership[1][2][3] of the means of production[4][5][6][7] and workers' self-management of enterprises.[8][9] It includes the political theories and movements associated with such systems.[10] Social ownership can be public, collective, cooperative or of equity.[11] While no single definition encapsulates many types of socialism,[12] social ownership is the one common element.[1][13][14]
That's from Wikipedia.

Under socialism, incentives either play a minimal role or are ignored totally.
A centrally planned economy without market prices or profits, where property is owned by the state, is a system without an effective incentive mechanism to direct economic activity. By failing to emphasize incentives, socialism is a theory inconsistent with human nature and is therefore doomed to fail.
Socialism is based on the theory that incentives don’t matter.

Why the people of Cuba remained stuck in the 50's.

Free stuff isn't a big enough incentive to destroy our govt.
The countries where foreigners who exist under socialism risk it all to live, breathe, earn a living, attend our Universities & thrive by their own decisions as to how they earn their living someday.

The marketing of Socialism to superscede what we currently have is just that.
Marketing
. And they refuse to tell the truth of what will be removed &,replaced in order to have the gov't fully determining your existence.

Ask those who left their own country under such govt rule, to have a shot at that American Dream.
Ask them what it means.

You'll have your answer as to the great Marketing Lie of socialism.

Dig deeper on what you're not being told.
It is a frightening trade off.
