11 year old girl died in Broward County, Florida recently from COVID-19

An 11-year-old girl from Broward has died from coronavirus-related complications, becoming one of the state’s youngest victims, according to data released Thursday by the state Department of Health.

Yansi Ayala died Wednesday at Broward Health Medical Center, according to the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office. The child had underlying conditions, including trisomy 13, a genetic condition, with cardiomyopathy, epilepsy, cerebral palsy and asthma, the medical examiner’s office said.

The child is the second 11-year-old to die from the virus. Last week it was confirmed that an 11-year-old boy from Miami-Dade County died from COVID-19, becoming the state’s youngest known fatality from the disease.

Two additional minors in Florida have died of the virus. In late June, the Tampa Bay Times reported the virus-related death of 17-year-old Carsyn Davis of Fort Myers, along with an unidentified 17-year-old boy in Pasco County. The boy’s death was originally counted in April, but was publicly reported as the first minor to die of the virus in late June.

A tragedy when anyone dies of COVID-19, but children ? An 11 year old ? Just totally heart-breaking. I have no confirmation yet of the allegations about the corona party, herbs and OTC meds.

This may be bad, but I'm thinking that she took her to that party in hopes she'd get covid-19 woodsprite Jul 2020 #1
I think the poster who is claiming that 11 year old went to a church party might be confused. LisaL Jul 2020 #2

and pass. Maybe she was afraid what would happen to her daughter if she (the mom/dad) got covid and couldn't take care of her. Maybe the mom was tired of caring for a child with so many physical issues. BUT she took her to that party for a purpose, knowing full and well all of her existing health issues. Wouldn't that be considered 3rd degree murder?

“Third-degree murder in Minnesota involves killing another person without premeditation and intent, through inherently dangerous acts, and with no regard for human life. “Inherently dangerous acts” may be direct or indirect. The charge of third-degree murder encompasses unintentional murders, “depraved mind” murders and certain drug-related deaths, including drug-induced homicide. Malice can be involved in third-degree murder charges. If an individual intends to harm another person, but not kill that person, and the person dies anyway, charges of third-degree murder will likely be filed."

Carsyn Davis (17 year old) was the one who went to a large church party for children. Mom then treated her at home, but not with herbs, but antibiotic and hydroxychloroquine. Carsyn was eventually taken to a hospital where she died.

As rates in Florida continue to surge, the number of young people who have contracted the virus grows. As of July 3, just over 11,500 minors tested positive, with more than 5,000 of those under 10 years old, according to the Florida Department of Health.

Monitoring cases and deaths among children is critical while public officials make decisions about how children will return to school in August. On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis again touted the importance of schools opening as soon as possible.

When asked about the record number of cases, DeSantis pointed to the younger median age in new cases, citing it as a group less likely to need hospitalization.
