Maybe they keep waking up and it's a day from their past and they have the blissful ignorance to have never heard of Donald Trump.

That's literally the only explanation I can think of that's not "You know... morons"

You'd think they'd at least listen to the latest news about COVID-19, but no!

There are tons of people who don't want to know the details of politics and what is going on in the world. If their family isn't touched by the virus, no interest. I'll bet you could go out on a busy street and interview people about who they think is running for POTUS in November, they wouldn't have a clue. They wouldn't have any idea how many people have died of COVID-19 or which states are hit the hardest at present.
