White House objects to Senate GOP push for more CDC money for coronavirus testing and tracing

Washington, DC (CNN)The White House and Senate Republicans are at odds over the amount of funding that should be given to the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention in the next round of stimulus spending, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told CNN on Saturday.

Some Senate Republicans are pushing for more money for Covid-19 contact tracing and testing, but the White House argues that there is sufficient funding still remaining from the March stimulus law, the source said.
The specifics of the bill are expected to be unveiled next week, so any discussions at this point are just preliminary -- and the amount of funding to propose is a moving target even among GOP members, according to a GOP source. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has kept details of the bill closely held so far.
"You would have to try hard to come up with a more tone deaf position," one GOP aide said, noting that in recent days, the hope had been that the Trump administration would take coronavirus more seriously in an effort to make it clear to the public and voters that they were managing the crisis.

Cracks? The dam is about to burst wide open and there will be mass casualties.

Get the snacks. Covid-19 will be their excuse to dump him.
Make them pay - he should have been removed from office and they blew it.

At the worst, it seems that he wants people to die. At best, it seems he doesn't care.

I can't think of one decision he has made that was solely in the best interests of the people. His re-election chances have been the driving force in his handling of this crisis.

I hate to be cynical, but I notice this report isn't about Dems pushing for more CDC money. And these are "preliminary discussions." Would Senate and White House Republicans plant a tiny point of "disagreement" in the media that makes both "sides" look like good guys? One side says "we need more funding for coronavirus testing." The other side says, "Are you sure? I thought we already had enough money for that in the previous bill."

Yeah, I think they would do that. Sorry.

But you listen to a lunatic like Steven Miller, and dismantle Obama era epidemic control protocols, well, plagues are really, really bad for business, as the stupid bastards are now finding out.

If there were fewer breast exams, there would be less breast cancer.

If there were fewer prostate exams, there would be less prostate cancer.

Equate it to something most people, family member, or a friend has had a brush with. PROVE that he is an idiot.
