There was a guy interviewed before the Tulsa rally whose family member had died of the virus and was attending who was still "not sure" if it was serious.

35% to 38% of the country is very very dumb.

800,000 Deaths, by the End of 2020
https://www.thedailybeast.com/america-is-on-track-for-a-million-coronavirus-cases-a-day-and-at-least-800000-deaths-by-the-end-of-2020
<snip>
If someone had suggested five months ago that we would be seeing more than 3 million cases and 135,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. by mid-July, I wouldn’t have believed it.

But now it’s distinctly possible that, five months from now, half of all Americans could have been infected with SARS-CoV-2, and more than 800,000 Americans may die in this extraordinary outbreak. That is what many of our most prominent public-health experts now expect.

Could their projection models be off base? Maybe. But don’t count on it. As bad as the health consequences, disruptions, restrictions, and fear of the last five months have been, things could get a whole lot worse.

Sharp spikes in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and fatalities are now being reported in many states, including Texas, Arizona, California, and Florida. And we’re still far behind where we should be at this point in the availability of reliable coronavirus tests and effective contact tracing.

Meanwhile, NIH infectious diseases chief Anthony Fauci recently told a congressional panel that if the trajectory of coronavirus spreads at its current rate, we could soon see 100,000 new confirmed cases per day in the U.S. And Robert Redfield, director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, warns the national confirmed test count represents no more than 10 percent of actual cases. That means there could actually be a million news cases every day by the end of the year.

They'll move from the "strong supporter" camp to the "supporter" camp, then into "lean Republican" territory and then they'll become "independents"

From there, they'll start spouting "all politicians are crooks" and claiming they never voted for him

But it'll take a while

hate-driven and so incredibly stupid they vote for the guy that spews the vomit they want to hear...Democrats are the enemy...blacks, hispanics, jews, muslims, asians, Native Americans are the real "virus" taking away their jobs and controlling the banks...government is evil but don't touch their social security and medicare (where they think these entitlements came from is anybody's guess)...if the orange maggot says inject disinfectant and drink bleach they do it...covid is a hoax, science is bad, ignorance is good, masks/social distancing are liberal plots..Trump serves up white nationalist conspiracies, lies, and verbal diarrhea and they willingly eat it up with a fork and a spoon..

have conditioned them to only listen to them, and to never trust anything outside of Trump-friendly media no matter how bad things get. If thousands die, it's the Dems' fault/it's all fake.

They aren't all stupid, either. Their hate of "others" is so strong that they are willing to overlook absolutely anything. And I would bet that 90% of that 38% consider themselves "christian".

Liberals are bad. Too many regulations, building the wall and standing up to our allies who had not paid their fair share in NATO. They are so brainwashed with the QAnon deep state shit. They only now trust MF45 and not the intelligence agencies. And Listen to Rump Limpballs and his clones. They are racist and don’t think they are. And Fox is now considered liberal Oann is their go go “truth telling” network. They are so far gone he’s given up talking to them and trying to change their minds. He still will talk work stuff with them but no politics. It’s really sad.

I was watching Chris Hayes interview the founder of Republican Voters Against Trump. They played some of the testimonials from Trump voters who are voting against him this time. In each of the ones I saw, it was only the handling of the pandemic that turned them. Not the Russia stuff, the hollowing out of Justice and State Departments, separating families at the border, the documents found in the impeachment, the fact that he illegally ignored subpoenas for the rest of it... etc.

Maybe if I go to the site and hear more, there will be other reasons for dumping Trump. There were none in the small sample they selected.
