The Wallace interview- sorry to toot my own horn but....

Between that interview and Mary Trump’s book I think we can see that what I’ve been saying for more than 3 years is apparent:

He’s only a few steps from Howard Hughes territory.
Late stage Howard Hughes.
There were no cameras on Howard though.

I’ve seen this administration described here on DU as “late stage Elvis” in that those who aren’t running away are covering their tracks for when it all ends. Badly as it must. I think that apt too.

Howard though never had a police force to use or whatever the hell is going on in Portland.

We can’t take this for granted though. As weird as it’s going to get the media still needs two horses in this race. They will keep he up regardless of how over the edge he goes. Especially with so many people still at home and watching TV - this could be a ratings bonanza. Local TV stations heavily rely on these ad sales.

Going back to the tissue boxes on his feet, I expect his “executive time” to get longer and longer with some sporadic screaming on the front lawn.

assuming he's actually losing his grip (to the extent that he ever had a grip), his people are probably taking full advantage.

if so, expect to see even more off-the-walls crazy right-wing authoritarian crap between now and november. his loyalists will be making the most of him not being able or inclined to stop them.

Trump does not actually do enough work to coordinate all of this. There are people in his world who are taking advantage of his incompetence and distracted interest. It is scary to imagine who all these people are and what their objectives are.

"I have to turn on Fox News to see what I'm doing this week." The man really doesn't do much of anything, but takes credit for almost everything. That great economy he is always bragging about, what did HE do to make that happen? Well, besides inheriting it like everything else in his life.

points to exactly what you are saying. It cannot be understated how unfit he is just to be walking around with no supervision, much less lead the country. The difference about the cameras is that Hughes avoided them and Trump runs toward them. We are going to watch the holder of highest office break down over the next few months on live TV.

He is caught in a self-reinforcing cycle of bad polling, and and reacting to that by saying or doing something stupid that drives the polling even lower.

Yes he is in a spiral. He just HAS to talk because he’s sure everyone wants to hear from him (task force pressers) and he’s in the middle of a campaign. Every time he speaks it gets worse as you said.

Knight strategy in place.

Also something for Trump to think about - he may be worth more dead than alive. Just need to find a "liberal" patsy.
