Colorado governor: 'National testing scene is a complete disgrace'

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis on Sunday said national testing for Covid-19 is disastrously slow.

“The national testing scene is a complete disgrace,“ Polis said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “So, every test we send out to private lab partners nationally, Quest, Labcorp, seven days, eight days, nine days — maybe six days if we're lucky. Almost useless from an epidemiological or even diagnostic perspective.“

The number of diagnosed cases has been rising throughout most of the country, topping 3.7 million. On Saturday, the FDA granted the first emergency use authorization for pooled coronavirus testing for Covid-19, allowing up to four samples to be merged to expedite the results.

Polis, a Democrat, told host Chuck Todd that Colorado has managed to ameliorate the situation.

Started symptoms Wed, tested Thursday, they are using a new lab which is faster (??) and should know by tomorrow. Mildish symptoms so far but kind of feeling worse at day 5, ugh!
