They were considered ignorent, low-class, 'not one of us', etc

People tried and tried to sound the alarm. As recently as the 04 election, I believe, pundits, columnists, poo-pooed the very idea that such a concept as dominionism even existed, much less could influence how people might vote.

To show how little 'mainstream' people knew about the Evangelical world and its beliefs, McCain picked John Hagee as his Evangelical liason. He dropped him rather quickly when people familiar with that world pointed out that Hagee's organization of Christians for Israel hold a theological view that in order for Jesus to return all the Jews must return to Israel. Then when they're all there they will be given a choice---either become a Christian or die an extremely horrible, painful death!

People who had been taking the Evangelical world seriously KNEW this.

From So Africa, he bagan his Laughing Mimistry in 89 and was connected to the Toronto Blessing and tbe Brownsville Revival movements. Both were international.
