3. They're not playing the odds.

The 2016 result was a quirk of the electoral college system and the way the national popular vote just happened to be distributed. It had to be distributed JUST SO for the orange con man to win. That was a mathematical improbability. The national popular vote margin is going to be quite a bit larger this time, I am sure, and so that won't happen again. It's an even bigger improbability this time, and that it could happen twice in a row makes it even more improbable. If that con man gets a second term, it'll be because of cheating. That's why we need not just a win, but a wipeout. Make it so much of a popular vote tsunami that even the Republicons' cheating won't be enough.

protest their candidate’s primary loss, Comey and similar lies, Democrats bashing Obama — and Clinton— over trade right up to November, voters being too complacent because of polls, etc., this time around.

the voters in 2016 and they certainly don't have one now. They're relying on their old standby,
