Superb clip by the Lincoln Project as always. It’s always useful to get ahead of things and sound the alarm. As a retired State Dept. Diplomat with almost 28 years service abroad, I am quite confident that Trump, Barr and the rest of the sycophants will fail miserably in their attempts to instill fascism in our Country. People frequently say that other democracies became dictatorships and that we may be on that track as well. I disagree vehemently. As a student of history and given my practical experiences living and working in many types of governmental systems including dictatorships, I cannot think of an instance where a Nation with very advanced and mature democratic traditions and institutions has been turned into a dictatorship. While there are instances of new and immature democracies going the way of dictatorship, there are none in a Nation with our history and traditions of democracy.
