Trump's latest attempt at national obscenity

Oh, it's cloaked in predictable non-discrimination crap, but we all know what it will truly mean.

He has now called for a "National Garden of American Heroes." I'm sure he didn't spell it that way the first time, around, but what else is new?

He put it in an executive order, so maybe Biden can nix it before it gets started. Obviously HIS version of American Heroes and our version of American Heroes won't exactly be identical. Better not to get started with that.

As a concession to you-know-whom, he has included Frederick Douglass. Up until well past his inauguration, he wasn't even aware that Douglass lived and died in the 19th Century. So much for his "admiration" of Frederick Douglass.

However, he revealed his true intentions by including Antonin Scalia, a recently deceased Supreme Court Justice so hated by Democrats that some rejoiced at his passing in 2016. This is like when the Republicans renamed Washington National Airport after Ronald Reagan, a move so steeped in cynicism and revenge that even today, decades later, most Washingtonians still refer to it as "National Airport" or just DCA, the three letter airport code it has always had, and rarely by the name of a president most residents of Washington despised (the feeling was mutual--at least John Wayne Airport was placed in an area that liked him).

A Supreme Court Justice who always ruled against the rights of the citizens of this country hardly rates as an American hero except in the eyes of those who find curtailing human rights to be a noble act. I can only imagine who else will qualify in the eyes of Trump and the people really behind this. Probably Reagan, Robert E. Lee, Warren Harding, Spiro Agnew, Lester Maddox, D. W. Griffith, and George Wallace. Maybe Roland Freisler as a role model guest star?

What a lasting legacy to his failed presidency: a theme park overwhelmingly dedicated to national villains.

But he can't be the one to put himself there, and he will go to his grave confounded that no one else proposed that he join the other "heroes."

He wants to create something that his fans might be able to put him in. He doesn't fit into anywhere else. I know he had his eye on Mt. Rushmore, but that won't work out, thankfully.

I know of a garbage dump or two that might, just might allow him in, but that's not a sure thing. Although, their flies do lay eggs, so there'll be plenty of MAGAts.
