Restaurant refuses to serve customers wearing masks

PLACERVILLE, Calif. (KABC) -- A restaurant in Northern California is facing complaints after customers say staff has refused to serve anyone wearing a mask.

'The Apple Bistro' in Placerville, located about 40 miles northeast of Sacramento, has been turning people away if they are wearing a mask, according to multiple reviews posted on Yelp and social media. The restaurant has a sign posted out front stating its position clearly: "No social conditioning. No oxygen deprivation mask. No latex dirty germ spreader."

"I was just asked to leave this café, when I went in to grab an apple pie," one woman wrote on social media. "Why? Because I was wearing a mask. We stop almost every time we come up to the cabin. We will never stop there again."

El Dorado County officials have taken notice. They say restaurants like this one will soon start getting visits. There will be a one-time warning, but after that they face the possible suspension of licenses to serve food.

I had a similar experience here at a Walgreens outside of Seattle; while they weren't refusing service to people with masks, they weren't enforcing the governor's mandatory "no mask, no service" order because "we don't want people to feel uncomfortable." I notified both the state and Walgreens corporate (which, as of today, is requiring masks in all stores, whether the state has ordered it or not); I hope they'll be hearing from both soon.

And I think they used to go to this place for brunch.

I'll be sure to tell them.

It's some pretty red neck country there.

to deprive your brain of oxygen. I don't know who came up with this stuff, but it seems to be a prevalent argument among anti-maskers. It's completely wrong.

because they feel surrounded by “libtards,” and so they lash out to express their victimhood and privilege.

Owner refusing to allow his employees to wear masks on the job.

I know several of his regular customers who will not set foot in there.

A shame, his beautiful, once popular restaurant is going to fail because the owner is trying to make a point based on a delusion.

If you are going to run a business that is so fucking irresponsible, I appreciate you being so heads up about it.

Gives me the opportunity to go elsewhere that doesn't serve their food with a side of disease.
