Every time I am reminded about Obamas note to John Lewis following his inauguration Because of you, John I still cry.
Within minutes of having accomplished what had once been seen as impossible being elected the first black president of the United States Barack gave credit to someone other than himself. He did so immediately and instinctively, because his integrity led him to do the right thing without hesitation, or regard to politically-motivated self-aggrandizement.
We now have the opportunity to elect a man of like integrity, sincere humility, unabashed honesty, and an unwavering belief that America can rise to any challenge by being united rather than divided.
And I duly believe we are about to do so.

(9,112 posts)But certain people in my circle are becoming more critical of Biden. Thankfully Facebook actually put a warning up on my sister's edited video of Biden. Then I checked the comments and there was a unified condemnation of Joe's "sleazy behavior", treatment of women and how horrible Jill is for allowing the behavior. It is so stunning to see that I freeze in disbelief and angry at my relatives for cheering on what turned out to be an altered video. I think this is evidence of brainwashing and an intentional disconnect from reality. They believe that protests are riots and that they caused the covid surge.
Also there seems to be a more pointed criticism of Newsom's guidance during Corona in CA and that seems to mean vilifying liberals even more.
It's going to be a long 105 days.
