Stupid or evil? Unfortunately, there are millions of Trumpies who loudly refuse to wear a mask in

any situation involving close contact with others. Most insist that "no one has the authority" to require them to wear a mask which "not only does nothing to stop the Corona virus, but also actually causes illnesses such as mildew in their lungs caused by rebreathing stale air"

There are only two apparent reasons for this conduct which endangers their families and neighbors: they are either so abysmally stupid that they actually believe that nonsense OR they are simply evil enough to prefer profit to the health and safety of American citizens.

I really don't care whether an unmasked shopper is stupid or evil. I just want them to get the hell away from me and to stop sharing my air. I will not knowingly associate with them or do business with them.

And, I will not forget them.

they were done, both left their masks off, I spoke up and asked those who were done eating to wear their masks, one complied the other just wore it under his chin and avoided eye contact with me, I will remember him.

I've seen it. They're truly hate-filled and are pushing for herd immunity at the expense of other's health and welfare. Others are so dim they're completely caught up in the RW spin that it infringes on their rights. This group also overlaps with the Q "true believers" out there.

If the virus was human-sized and dressed in a hijab, they'd maybe understand it.

They can instead claim the pandemic is an "act of God" or whatever.

I ran into it with some contractors in a smallish town in Northern Lower Michigan. They came highly recommended and do great work.

On way out, after feeling confident of them doing the job when I am away, I learn they don't believe the hype about COVID-19. They have heard from "professionals" the virus is small enough to get through masks. I try to explain the virus does not have wings and is thought to travel on water droplets that would adhere to mask, the mask is for others protection, viral load may be a factor, etc. Nope.

Hope they stay well enough to complete my job once the permit is approved. Told them if they lived downstate they might feel differently and that I hoped the area would not be seeing any hospital spikes from seasonal tourists. Told them we had self quarantined while we were visiting the area and we would have to agree to disagree.

No huge argument, but you could tell there was no changing their minds.

The sad thing is that their selfishness and irresponsibility could infect and kill their children or elderly parents. And guess who they would blame? Obama!
