https://abc7.com/78-earthquake-rocks-alaska-usgs-says/6328442/In the wee hours this morning, a 7.8 earthquake struck just offshore on the Alaska peninsula. A tsunami warning was issued, but was later canceled for lack of a tsunami. The few inhabitants near the epicenter evacuated themselves.
Apparently, this wasn't much of a news story. It didn't get mentioned on the CBS morning news in the 7 AM hour. I don't see anything in the first page of Breaking News on DU.

We also have a Tropical storm in the Atlantic South of the Lesser Antilles
