* YIKES. I see the number 9 and my stomach starts aching - how soon will that one tip over? 14.9 million to 15 million worldwide cases? 3.9 million US cases to 4 million?

CNN is usually a wee bit behind what NBC News has.

It just so happened that since we routinely watch more of MSNBC than CNN, I started noting the numbers I saw most frequently. And then once it got rolling, I was hesitant to change the source of the data, for the sake of consistency.
