It looks like there will be a temporary extension on unemployment benefits because the Republicans

are so fucking incompetent. The House passed the care act a couple of the months ago. The Republicans did nothing. Now they are trying to put something together at the last minute and they are fighting among themselves. They won't be able to do anything before the deadline, so they will just extend what's in place. The good news is people will continue to get unemployment benefits. They did not say how long of an extension.

This was reported on MSNBC.

((A couple of tidbits: Republicans are arguing over what to include in the next round of pandemic relief. Harvard said that newly admitted students from abroad cannot come to campus to study this fall.

RIGHT NOWOfficials in North Dakota announced 160 new cases on Wednesday, a single-day record.))

It's going to get really ugly if they don't. There will be tent cities in all major cities, as well as some small towns, all across the country. You can see empty grocery shelves all across rural America because so many people have remained out of work that nobody is producing enough groceries! Big cities usually get the groceries first, and small towns just can't compete.

But that's one way we know there are millions and millions of people not working at all, because not enough is being produced/canned/boxed/harvested or trucked to make up for all the restaurants that formerly fed millions and millions of Americans every day....sometimes 3 meals a day.
