Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) called his home state’s Republican Party a “death cult” referring to Gov. Greg Abbott (R) and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick’s (R) response to the coronavirus crisis, The Hill reports.

Said O’Rourke: “This is one of the most craven, callous failures of leadership that I’ve ever witnessed in my life.”

He added: “This is a death cult. The Texas GOP. Only they want you to do the dying.”

by their money and privilege in dealing with COVID as in everything else. They may presume their money and connections will get them all the tests and treatments and vaccines they want so they don't have to worry while the poor folks around them are dying.
