Chapter 847: I had a conversation yesterday with

A very well-known Philadelphia criminal defense attorney. And I must say for many young people the phrase “Philadelphia lawyer“ may not mean anything, but at one time it was a catch phrase used throughout the country to mean a very shrewd lawyer who could do anything that needed to be done. This man is the quintessential Philadelphia lawyer.

He said to me in no uncertain terms that Trump and many members of his family will be going to jail. He is quite familiar with the state courts in New York and state prosecutors in New York as well as the prosecutors in Florida. These people are salivating, waiting for him to leave Office. And I’ve known this guy for over 25 years and never known him to exaggerate or dissemble with respect to procedure and protocol. He is a stark realist, if he believed that Trump and his minions were going to get away with it, as many of his clients have escaped prison, he would say so. In many cases during high profile prosecutions in the news, both local and national, he would say to me that someone was going to beat it and mention four or five intricate manners of defense. Not this time, and he’s no liberal in that sense. My guess is he’s a centrist to right wing Democrat, and quite frankly has never been wrong, at least Dead wrong in the years I’ve known him.

I told him I hoped and prayed he was correct. His response was, the Trump knows this of course and that’s why he will do anything to save himself from spending the rest of his life in prison. Anything. And for Trump, he added, “anything” is many things did you could not even conceive of because you’re civilized.

But the scary part is the very last paragraph. Trump will do ANYTHING to keep himself from being indicted, prosecuted, and jailed. I do hope that he and his spawn are held accountable for their crimes and that our country can be repaired.

We are an expendable nuisance standing between him and personal gain and power. And when he perceives us as a greater threat, he will come after us and make Tiananmen look like a picnic. Bet your life on it. It's happening.

That's where the orange con man better be heading IMMEDIATELY on Jan. 21, 2021. That's what I've been saying and thinking for months.

Who was that "fugitive financier" who was holed up on some Caribbean island for years and years? I would hear him mentioned every so often on the news. This was, oh, 25 or 30 years ago, I think.

If you ever want to see a great movie watch Paul Newman in The Young Philadelphians. Just a terrific film and appearances by all kinds of actors and actresses who went on to fame in TV.

My old brain is fuzzy about it now, but I think I first read the expression maybe in a story by Mark Twain or O. Henry. It was used to refer to an eastern big-city lawyer who was smart and slick, better than the lawyers in small towns in the south or west.

...of wanting to tear down the entire structure if he can’t get his way. You know, like that tag line in the movies, where the criminally jealous lover puts a knife to the woman’s throat and screams, “If I can’t have her, nobody can!”

Thank you for sharing this anecdote with us. I hope and pray your friend is right.

and he loses by such a margin that there can be no question that Biden is the new president, Trump will spend the next two+ months doing everything he can to finish destroying the country. He will try to drain the US Treasury of every penny possible. I predict that he will resign and allow Pence to pardon him. He will then have his plane waiting to fly him out of the country, probably to one of his golf courses in Scotland or Ireland. His buddy Boris would probably refuse to extradite him for trials in New York. Or perhaps he would go to Saudi Arabia and trade US intelligence for a life of luxury supported by MBS.

I truly have no faith that Trump will ever pay for his crimes.

and by worst I mean, mean-spirited letter of the law worst, at throwing the book at this entire cabal. Barr, Pompeo, et al. Because for the 75% majority of us who've had to endure repeated skirting of the law, this Kremlin loving regime has shaken our belief in a true and just America.

We'll get the voters to vote. You get them to stick to their word. And we'll back their every action.
