A large part of my job is getting law graduates ready to take the bar exam. I've got 130 or so who were planning to take the July bar, which got moved to September, and which is now moved to October. I think it's done moving.
But Ohio just made a big change that was to take effect in July (they would be able to take one exam and get licensed in ~40 states). So I have a bunch of February grads who waited until July to take the exam. The October exam will no longer get them licensed Ohio - so they may have waited for nothing.
BTW - if you know any law graduates who were planning on taking the bar exam in July (in any state), their lives have likely been significantly disrupted. They need a bit of extra TLC. Their massive law school debts will come due before the next opportunity to take the bar exam (so they will need to work instead of study). Some were shut out entirely when states (NY, for example) refused to allow any out-of-state student sit for the bar exam.
At any rate - I'm meeting with my students ~7 PM, and am looking for something like the shove Trump off a cliff game to let them vent a bit. (But it needs to be apolitical - so shove corona off a cliff, punch a punching bag, etc.)
Anyone have a handy link?
