I keep seeing posts about former generals speaking out, ex-admirals expressing their concern, retired diplomats stating their objections. And while it is encouraging to hear from people who were formerly in high positions of responsibility speaking out, they have nothing to lose. They are retired.
How about current generals, admirals, ambassadors and the like stepping up? Retired means exactly that... retired. Out of the picture. Nothing on the line.
I am retired, too. And the company I used to work for does not want, does not need and does not care about my input into their current projects. "Thanks for your suggestions. We'll handle it from here."
I think it's great that these men and women who used to have positions of authority are speaking out, but the people I really want to hear from are those with careers on the line. An active-duty general saying "Fuck this shit!" means more than a retired general saying "I don't agree with this." Stand up and do the right thing, generals, admirals and ambassadors. You've got nothing to lose, either. Trump will siphon your pension into his own pocket, anyway.

Look what happened to MacArthur when he went public about his problems with Truman.
