but both the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty as well as numerous other tall sructures have been struck by lightning hundreds of times. Just remember when you hear someone say "lightning never strikes the same place twice," it's nonsense. Lightning does strike the same places repeatedly. Some even put lightning "rods" on barns to keep them from being burned down by repeated lightning strikes. They do it on purpose to give the lightning a path to ground that won't burn the barns down.

But, still, Mother Nature has been telling us all to wake up for a while now too.
