(2,502 posts)White soccer moms in yellow tee-shirts and white dads with leaf blowers getting gassed in Portland doesn't play well as African Americans in Chicago getting gassed or Mexicans in Albuquerque getting gassed. Edit: I don't know the demographics of Alburquerque, just trying to think as the boob thinks.

I believe our protests have been largely peaceful with majority wearing masks. There has been one shooting when a statue was being removed and the shooter was a local militia guy whose father used to be sheriff.
It seems our governor (Dem Lujan-Grisham) has given a preliminary ok to the feds to send in federal help with a caution to not interfere with state and local police forces. This surprised me since there really doesnt seem to be a problem with uptick of violent crime. I wonder if she is doing this in order to tamp down on protests because COVID-19 is spiking. We shall see.
