I can't believe this is happening!...

My wife is SES at EPA. She heads an office there.

There is a Trump political appointee above her who does not like working with women.

He sh*tcanned her position. Just like that. Did not even give her the 15 day required letter of notice.

She now has to look for another agency job. She is much beloved by her staff - it is a shock to them.

The political appointee has already groomed some else, a male, for her job. That person will have to do two jobs at once, his current job and that of office director.

Now I wish I owned some brass knuckles...

I share your incredulity at what is happening all around us right now. It is really, really difficult to believe.

Best to you and your wife.

The former has some protections. The latter are essentially at-will.

I don't envy her in any attempts to fight (something I have experience with from years past), but it can be done.

Obviously this administration does not respect employment/civil service rules or EEO, so the fight will be ugly. Believe me, I know.

Good luck.

They have pretty much latitude with what they can do. They need to find her a new job, though. But it is hard on her, simply being outsted.

Yes, this administration is beyond belief. She will come out smelling like a rose when the administration changes. She's already been told she would be viewed as a non-collaborator. Let's just make sure it happens (the change of administration, I mean).

Also, in the meantime, she need to find a new home in the agency...

Gather evidence from people who've heard statements from him or seen actions that look or sound anti women.

These dumb asses are usually not careful enough

Take the evidence to HR if another job can't be found

Sometimes it only takes a person punching back a little and bigoted people run like hell
