Well if you dont let me remind you. Once upon a time Ford made a car called the Pinto. Riding in one was similar to being in a rolling crematorium. If you got rear ended in this...kaboom...up in flames you went. Needless to say that, unlike the spectacular Ford Bronco, they are not bringing back the Pinto.
Well this morning I and my wife were being walked by our dog and low and behold, what should appear but a shiny red Ford Pinto. I instantly made the connection between the Pinto and trumps presidency.
Ive heard and read any number of analogies for him but this in particular struck me as spot on. Its true that everything he touches dies, but first it needs to go kaboom. He kabooms with abandon. One more term of him being president and America will look like a rear ended Pinto...kaboom.

The joke, 'a new deadly weapon, a Pinto with Firestone tires'. [Kaboom].

(9,983 posts)Pintos were a rugged, servicable small car, with a gas tank issue. Many of their competitors had similar, but Ford's lawyer's played it all wrong!
I was a Chevy dealer mechanic in the late '70's, who drove a Pinto, an F-100, and a Saab to work. GM is OBSESSED with production cost, never more so than in the Vega. Instead of an evolutionary approach, leveraging existing "best practices" (as Ford did), GM put it all in the hands of a "clean sheet" design team, who produced a wretched car, designed to be assembled at twice the normal line speed in the infamous Lordstown, Ohio plant.
Make no mistake, Trump is a VEGA. A shit engine, cheapest transmissions in the parts bin. Ramshackle structure, particularly the front suspension area. Lousy brakes, undersize wheelbearings. Turn to Trump, it's the same thing! The tiny hands, a "phisique" that has never done honest work, "Steering" and "Suspension" bound up and barely functioning.
They haven't produced Pinto's since 1980 - so you saw a shiny red, 40 year old! car, still running and functioning. If you've seen a Vega lately, odds are its a hot rod, with much of the original long gone.
