And then there were none...

For weeks now, COVID Act Now has been displaying a status map of states and their current conditions, ranging from green ( "On track to contain COVID" ) to red ( "Active or imminent outbreak" ). Since the start of tracking, there were usually a handful of states in red and a slightly smaller handful of states in green, but, over the past few weeks, the number of states in green gradually grew smaller and smaller.

Today, there's not a single state in green, and eleven states, predominantly in the south and Rockies, are red. Most of the others (twenty-eight states) are orange, the second-highest risk rating. Only eleven other states, mostly centered in the northeast, are rated yellow ( "Slow disease growth" ).

I think we will always see spikes after holidays because, especially then, people just won't behave responsibly.
