My wife's former Secretary voted for Trump in 2016...

They caught up earlier today. She now thinks Trump is a racist (specifically anti-Black) and incompetent (specifically COVID). She's voting for Biden.

been identified with capitalization as though it is a proper noun? Did your wife address her as "Secretary" at work?

She was with me for 22 years so I guess we got along okay.

4. I could excuse that since it was a nickname.

However, I always addressed the secretaries that I worked with by their preferred proper names whether it be Tracy, Karen, Ms. Smith, or Mrs. Johnson.

I was an awesome boss and we're still best friends.
