The NYT, which would not use the words when Ted Yoho spoke them, uses them tonight to quote @AOC--and it describes HER behavior, not his, as "disruptive" and a "norm-shattering moment," one that it implies is about "amplifying her own brand."

Most corporations would consider such an epithet to be grounds for reprimand and possible termination..
It was extremely unprofessional to say the least.

“After a brief but tense exchange, The Hill newspaper said in an account later shared by Ms. Ocasio-Cortez on Twitter, Mr. Yoho walked away from her, uttering the vulgar phrase.

In her tweet, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez embraced the insult, remarking, “But hey, ‘b*tches’ get stuff done.”

By Wednesday evening, the media-savvy Ms. Ocasio-Cortez had sprung into action to create a disruptive and viral event.”

Was a reporter from the NYT present when Yoho said the words? If not, then any account will be secondhand. Any account will be of the "she said that he said" nature.

Was a reporter from the NYT present when AOC said the words? Yes, so this is not a secondhand account. They can quote her.

saying SHE is "norm shattering". Maybe they should concentrate on the Congressman who originated the words and not the person who just repeated what was said.

What can you expect. he is a republican. Oh and BTW~trump hasn't his changed his tone and hasn't sounded like a president a day in his life, EVER!

23. Implicitly what is 'normative behavior'

If what AOC did was 'norm shattering' then we must consider what is normative behavior.

A White Male Republican used vulgar and offensive, sexually harassing words at work and faced zero consequences.

His non-apology blamed victims for being offended and that was normal.

He was not censored for this behavior -- that is normal too.

He was not given some sort of reprimand by the House of Representatives version of H/R department and forced to go to sensitivity training. This is normal.

The Veterinary licensing board has not issued a statement distanccing themselves from him -- that is normal too.

Virtually every woman in Congress who has been asked replied -- similar things have happened to me too. That tells you what normative behavior.

This is why we all need to vote out every one with a (R) for racist, misogynist, hater of all things LGBTQ+, etc out of office. What Yoho did is 'normative behavior' and a woman standing up and saying that if you did this in any other company in this country (with the exception of the Trump crime syndicate) that you would face consequences is 'norm-shattering.'

What was normative behavior MUST CHANGE!
