18-Year-Old Arrested For Assault After Taunting Cops With Doughnut

https://www.unilad.co.uk/news/18-year-old-arrested-for-assault-after-taunting-cops-with-doughnut/

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for assault after taunting officers with a doughnut, which he had dangled on a string at the end of a stick.

The incident took place during a ‘Back the Blue’ rally in Everett, Washington, on Friday, July 17, a demonstration, which had been organised by members of the Snohomish County Republican Party.

Footage taken at the scene shows the teenager skateboarding up to a group which included sheriff’s deputies and marshals, asking if they wanted to have ‘a bite’.

You can watch the video footage for yourself below:

"Unprovoked attack on an officer with fried dough covered with a sugary substance, which was hanging from a string. Fried dough did not actually touch officer, but it was dangled in front of him, causing some feelings to be hurt a little bit".

I don't know...if I were one of those cops, I would have been laughing my ass off and congratulating that guy for his creativity.

the kid, but it is unclear on the video. It was a dumb prank, but certainly didn't warrant arrest.

You never know... disrespecting a cop is an offense punishable by any means

I mean how dim-witted and weak do you have to be to get upset by something like this?
Wouldn't any sane decent person just laugh at it?
Bu that's cops. Disrespect is the *worst* to them

All the while, a teenage girl continues to record the incident, and it’s clear that the skateboarder does not assault or touch any of the officers at any point in the footage.

When the girl asks why exactly he is being arrested, the same officer who had been laughing at the doughnut joke mere moments before told her to ‘back off’, stating:

He assaulted a lieutenant. You back off or you’ll go to jail.

The man holds the doughnut up higher in the air, in front of the plain-clothes lieutenant.

“Hey, any of you bootlickers want this?” the man says, louder.

The sheriff’s lieutenant immediately becomes upset.

No, this actually happened. Link here. Eh, things happen, you know? Charges against cop dismissed. Regrettable incident. Sorry for your loss. (Last sentence optional)

Teen-ager rolls up on cops, dangles donut (not in a dirty way), arrested for assault.

See how that works?

mmmmmmmmmm.... glazed with chocolate icing... greasy sugary nothingness melts in your mouth... (NOT one of those cake donuts that are so heavy they could injure you if you got hit with one) I am gaining weight just fantasizing about it...

Cops know they have a reputation with donuts, OWN it.

Holding the gun like he's auditioning for "Boys In The Hood".
Do responsible gun owners really hold a handgun like this?
They shouldn't as it's been proven to be substantially less accurate.

Chambering the weapon doesn't seem to responsible to me.
I didn't notice that because I thought he had hand over hand on the grip.
I didn't examine further because I really just hope that punk gets arrested.
