Great job by @elonmusk in agreeing to build, in TEXAS, what is expected to be the largest auto plant anywhere in the world. He kept his word to me. Texas & @Tesla are big winners. MADE IN THE USA!

Perhaps I'm mistaken but the market share of Teslas is relatively small - what about 2% of the population own a Tesla?

currently the largest auto plant is vw's, 70 million sq. ft., which is about 1,607 acres.

whereas tesla's new plant will be 2,100 acres:

you're right that tesla currently has only a small share of the auto market, but its market capitalization is already larger than any other car company's. there's obviously great expectations that it will gain a much bigger share of the market in the coming years. exactly how much? 5%? 15%? 50%? ah, that's the question.

Total global sales for the Tesla are a bit more than 800,000. Even if almost all of them were sold here that would be what, like three-tenths of one percent of the population?

and since they would be part of the New Green Deal the plant would be useless.
