Road Report - To Springfield MO, And Back Again . . .

So anyway, on the road yesterday for work, for a meeting in Springfield - Queen City Of The Ozarks, Buckle Of The Bible Belt, Assembly Of God World HQ, Birthplace of Cashew Chicken, and so much more . . .

As it happened, I ended up driving through Hickory County, home of Gov. Mike "And If They Do Get COVID-19 - And They Will" Parson. There and elsewhere Parson signs abounded - proving that you can take the hick out of Hickory County. Fair number of signs for Vicky Hartzler (MO-6) as well - at least 50 and 30, respectively for the two candidates.

Absent from the roadside? Pres. Shitstain - I saw a grand total of 6 Trump signs or flags over 390 miles on five different highways. One flapped above a yard just bursting at the seams with wood chainsaw statues, another shared a flagpole with a Confederate battle flag, which seemed . . . appropriate.

Other than that, a loud visual silence in some of America's Trumpiest counties.

Other than the meeting only one stop, in a c-store on the way back, and about 65-70% of the clientele were wearing masks (all the clerks were).

It was a working trip, so I didn't spent that much time in town, but still, odd.

all said that rump is an idiot, and no longer are even discussing this scumbag, other than calling him an idiot. This is a far cry from what it was in 2016, the center of republican energy in MO, and signs were everywhere for support of rump. Now, it's totally different.

A world of difference. rump has fell so much in support, I am starting to kind of visualize that just perhaps, a hint that maybe Biden
has a remote chance to pick up MO? After all, Missourians aren't total idiots and we are the 'show me state'. rump certainly has shown us just how incompetent he really is, and what an idiot he is too.

I do have hope for MO.

Thanks hatrack, for the report on rump. Parsons by the way, is an ignorant, not elected governor of MO. I look forward to stomping his incompetent a&& out of office soon.

7. Forgot to mention - there were a fair number of "Yes On 2" signs

More in Springfield than in the rural areas, but a sprinkling in the country even so.

2 is the ballot question which would expand Medicaid in Missouri, since the legislature (of course!) never did it back in 2011 or 2010 or whenever the option became available.

in the MO House and Senate, as well as the non-elected governor Parsons will find some way of ignoring the edict, or somehow taking the teeth out of Amendment 2.

The below is for those outside the state of MO FYI, who may be wondering what 'Yes On 2' is...

A "yes" vote supports
•expanding Medicaid eligibility in Missouri to adults that are 19 years old or older and younger than 65 whose income is 133% of the federal poverty level or below, which would effectively expand Medicaid to those with incomes at or below 138% of the federal poverty level under the Affordable Care Act;
•prohibiting any additional restrictions or requirements for the expanded population to qualify for Medicaid coverage than for other populations that qualify for Medicaid coverage; and
•requiring the state to seek maximum federal funding of Medicaid expansion.

When my wife and I drove from Tacoma to Colorado in 2016 to visit our son, there were Trumps flags (or painting on barns) everywhere - all across the states that we traveled. So what you're sharing is good to hear.

Also signs are a pain in the ass when cutting grass and anyone whom I have had a sign in my yard to support seems to lose their election. I don't want to jinx my favorite candidates.

I am familiar with both of the places you mention. I am a native of Springfield, and a current resident. My mother and her mother are both from Hickory County. There are Democrats in both places, but they are not always easy to find. My second cousin's wife was, until fairly recently, a Democrat holding public office in Hickory County. As for Springfield, you kind of have to know where to look for Democrats. For instance Springfield's north side state rep district 132 is represented by a Democrat. Areas around Missouri State and Drury Universities tend to be more Democratic. I rarely go anywhere but the grocery store nowadays, so I don't know what the signage situation is. I don't put out any signs, as the jerk-ass wingnuts would probably attempt to destroy my property if I did. What part of town were you in?
