Actually, it's incredibly fortunate that we haven't had anything like a major hurricane yet. I do realize the official hurricane season isn't very old.

Snips....

A tropical storm warning stretches south through and along the coast of the Rio Grande Valley including coastal Cameron, all of Willacy and Northern Hidalgo counties.

The biggest impacts forecast for the Valley include heavy rain, gusty winds and possible flash flooding.

The National Hurricane Center has updated the official hurricane forecast cone with their 4 p.m. advisory. The cone now projects Tropical Storm Hanna to reach category 1 hurricane strength at landfall on Saturday afternoon. Hanna is expected to make landfall near Kingsville at Baffin Bay, with winds reaching 75 mph. Rainfall remains the biggest concern for the RGV, with totals ranging from 4-6 inches. Flood prone areas need to remain alert.

Heavy rainfall for widespread areas in the Rio Grande Valley.....

Respectfully, I think the Weather Service should be getting your input!

What you said reminds me of what my parents and grandparents would say about their rheumatism flaring up with changing weather.

Now that I've gotten to be older, I sort of respect that notion........
