I watched a Netflix series about the mob in NY City. Why does Rudy protect Trump with such zeal?

In the 70's 80's, the mob controlled much of NYC. They controlled the unions, construction, cement companies. If you wanted to build something in NYC, you had to go through the mob. If you did not, they would kill you.

Rudy was the prosecutor at that time who that helped bring down the five families. That's what made him famous. During that time Trump was building the Trump tower. He had to answer to the mob to get that built. They demanded a piece of everything.

In the series you hear lots of FBI secret recordings from the mob. Trumps name is mentioned.

The zeal in which Rudy protects Trump cannot be explained by, we are friends, No fucking way.

We all know Trump plays both sides of the fence. Trump had to be paying the mob in some way. What was Trump doing for Rudy back then? Was Trump an informant for both Rudy and the mob? I don't know, all I know is there is something about Rudy and Trump that has not been explained yet.

2. Maybe Rudy is no friend of the New York mob, but he seems to have buttered his bread

with money from the pro-Russian Ukrainian mob and maybe the Russian mafia/KGB.

I'm trying to recall if Rudy is mentioned in Craig Ungar's book House of Trump, House of Putin. Ungar does write in some detail about the Russian mafia moving into New York too, during the exact times you're talking about. They started small and grew and grew, at one point gaining extraordinary power in NYC.

I'd like to see that series you're talking about. Sounds fascinating.

protect the Capo's and boost profits. Lockup the low hanging scum that were trouble makers. Gotti got taken down by the Eastern District US Attorney after skating for decades.
