In Trump's case, it shows that he has no regard for the medal's true intent and meaning. Trump views it just a trinket to be handed out as freely and carelessly as he passes out the souvenir "presidential" challenge coins.

I hate him. I also hate his wife and kids. There's only ONE politician whom I hate equally... and I will surely dance with glee when either one takes their last breath.
