President Trump ordered his administration to slow down coronavirus testing, he tried to block CDC funding, and he has ignored the experts from day one. His actions defy both logic and humanity.

We have made this Faustian bargain in the past, deciding that the profits from tobacco is more important than the 400,000 annual deaths, or that profits for the fossil fuel industries is more important than human live on this entire planet.

It's not such a stretch from there to decide that saving a couple million lives from disease is not worth the hit on the economy.
