The video in the OP took Carlin out of context, and although it ties in nicely with the images, it’s intellectually dishonest. As much as Carlin in the OP video gets liked by people here, his “save the planet” shtick might as well have been commentary right off of Fox News. Don’t do anything about the environment. Species die anyway. Carlin never bothered with the easy corollary that if species are threatened by humankind’s actions, then humankind can save them by acting differently. Carlin, however, would still be on the sideline scorning it all.

Carlin was not one of us. Carlin wasn’t a Democrat. He detested the Democratic Party. Frankly, I think he was an anarchist/nihilist. The second any kind of movement got organized, Carlin would call it a tool of “them” and treat it as something “they” were using to control us. He was the embodiment of both-siderism.

Frankly, I miss Robin Williams far more.
