Boris Johnson's government is privately 'desperate' for Trump to lose the election to Joe Biden

Boris Johnson's government privately wants Donald Trump to lose the upcoming presidential election to Joe Biden, according to a new report.

UK government sources told the Sunday Times that Johnson has been trying to distance itself from the Trump administration in anticipation of a potential Biden victory.

Johnson's government has reportedly ditched plans to sign a trade deal with Trump this year, saying they don't want to be bounced into one by the president.

A senior UK diplomat told Business Insider that a Biden victory would bring an end to the "venal corruption" of the Trump era.

them when Putin was poisoning Russian exiles (and eventually, others) in London. My great hope is that MI 6 keeps an eye on any meddling they detect and keeps an open line with the CIA, as a counteroffensive against foreign meddling in the election. As a general wish, I'd hope that the intel agencies of our allies would be helpful at this time if they don't want Trump back for another four years.

I'm very relieved about this story, because Johnson has been--at times--hard to read, although I thought the odds were good that he despised Trump too.

according to the recently published Russia Report from the Parliamentary Intelligence and Security Committee - both as Foreign Secretary and Prime Minister. MI6 hasn't been looking at the issue because Johnson's attitude is "don't know, don't want to know" - and why wouldn't it be, given that the Conservatives benefit from Russian money and Johnson clearly hasn't be hampered by any meddling in our democratic process.

He's just Trump with a slightly shabby Eton veneer.

I'm sceptical of anything coming out of No 10 - Johnson and his handler Cummings are a sleazy, dishonest pair, always looking to spin to the media and the country - they're masters of saying one thing and doing another.

Trump. If Biden is elected, it will signal the world fightback against authoritarian lying scumbags like Johnson and Bolsonaro.
