Illinois reported 1 COVID death yesterday.
That's welcome news given we lost 0.06% of the state to COVID. (About 1 in every 1,650 folks here)
Averaged around 70 a day, so 1 is a pleasant outcome.
I noticed several states at zero, too. Including a couple high population states. (Ohio was one of them)
Good for those states, too!
Some states may be a roaring blaze right now (no Donnie-boy, they're not embers), but others are doing quite well.

But yeah, a lot of states are doing very sensible things and coping as best they can under the circumstances. Hopefully Donnie wearing a mask cuts down in the anti-mask terrorism soon...

(1,206 posts)I am honestly kinda shocked that the Trump family - the grifters that they are - haven't leapt like starving hyenas onto selling branded masks.
I can only assume they will, but it's amazing to me that it hasn't happened yet.

To say that "well" requires total control/management is too unrealistic a demand.
I can't go there.

(2,220 posts)the hottest of Ohios hot spots, I am very suspicious of todays data. Especially suspicious because Dr. Scarf met with the governor and state health officials yesterday. It is rampant here, especially among people in the restaurant industry.

(65,248 posts)We had one death in a whole day.
Positivity is still under 4. CDC & WHO consider <5 to be under control.
We were over 15% not that long ago.
I really don't grasp the notion that if it isn't perfect, it sucks.

(65,248 posts)I saw a map here yesterday that had counties color coded.
I was surprised to see all the dark pink and red in east central.
Aside from Champaign & Decatur, there's not much but corn & soybeans.
Same thing with southwest, St Louis suburbs & south.
The county I live in (collar county) was tan.
Those counties have 10-30% of where I live and they're hotspots.
Must have been too many fools not taking things seriously.
