https://www.unilad.co.uk/news/million-unmasked-march-takes-place-but-only-250-people-turn-up/Organisers of the Million Unmasked March in Illinois say they didnt get the turnout they wanted, after only 250 people showed up.
Following the state seeing a spike in new coronavirus cases, the Illinois State Board of Education is looking to make masks compulsory for students to wear when returning to school this autumn something the Million Unmasked March was campaigning against.
The demonstration came just a day after the Governor of Illinois J.B. Pritzker put four of the states counties on warning level status due to dangerously increased numbers of COVID cases, reported Chicago Sun Times.
Earlier this week, Pritzker said, The enemy is not the mask. If youre not wearing a mask in public, youre endangering everyone around you, so the enemy is you.'

that is more than I would have expected.
I wonder how many of those end up testing positive.

(17,217 posts)I PITY Trump w/ his "base" of Dumb People. I bet the 250 people coming to this "big-time" march had less than 90 IQ.
Rump's losing voters in RED states, they are dying very quickly.

(65,013 posts)Illiana, to us, is Chicago, the collar counties, and the 4 NW counties of Indiana.
Sort of a two state metro reason.
I've never heard of the central region at the state line called that.

(65,013 posts)We have 12.5 million people in Illinois.
And these "organizers" could only get 250 drones.
This "smaller than expected" turnout is one fiftieth of one percent of the population!
Talk about overestimating their own importance!

(1,186 posts)Trump Organizers failed the Orange Clown again, they tried to drum up anti-mask protest and found what they found in Oklahoma and NH, they will claim it was the antifa. Dont worry, I am sure we could drum up a 250 95 year old ANTIFA WW2 vets that fought in Italy against the real Fascist!

(82,849 posts)These naught-heads do not represent a significant percentage of the population, and certainly nothing like a majority. They don't need to be covered in their suicidal ignorance. Their lethally uninformed opinion doesn't deserve even the time of "We're just asking questions."
The media, the people, and the country would be best served by not according these idiots any air time or attention.

(1,850 posts)So we really don't know how many were there unmasked, except it was less than 250.
I read that in several reports of this protest. Here's an excerpt and the link.
The Million Unmasked March, which took its name from the social-justice march a quarter-century ago, drew about 250 people, including a stalwart group of counter-demonstrators who periodically let loose their own shouted protests from across the street.
