Trying to put out a forest fire with a garden hose.

That's what I see when I look at the Trump and the Republicans handling of the virus and the economy. I am usually not a cynical person, however, I am at a complete loss to understand what the hell they are doing. They defy logic, reality, common sense. This forces you to become cynical.

It almost seems like they are trying to destroy America. It's fucked up.

That they’re just thinking about the economy and think da covid is something that won’t happen to them. Or if it does, their case won’t be that bad.

Think of the economy, the health care and the policing issues during an election year as a widespread Reichstag fire.

He did lose money in casinos. As a business man, he's a spectacular failure, just like most everything he's done.

... is and has always been self-enrichment and self-aggrandizement through corrupt crony capitalism. That's all he knows how to do. That's all he has ever done. His entire "management" of the crisis has been driven by those concerns and nothing else. It's not surprising in the least that it has been such a horrible, fucked-up failure of a response.

He doesn't want to destroy America; it's just that he doesn't have a clue how to save it. All his instincts are wrong, horribly wrong.

Accompanied with claims that it is contained, that they did a wonderful job, better than the rest of the world. And of course, there is no need to call back the firefighers despite the pleas by the experts.
