tRump losing support over his taking away that $600 UI benefit

Purely anecdotal, but my wife has heard from a couple of local tRump humpers that they will not be voting for him this Nov. The reason: they are on unemployment and will be directly affected if the weekly Fed benefit is cut. It’s clear tRump wants it cut, and drastically.

The straw that broke the camel’s back. As usual with Rs, it’s only a problem once they are directly affected.

then Pelosi and AOC

I learned my lesson in 2004 when I remember Bush supporters renouncing Bush in the summer of 2004 and into the early fall - only to confess after the very close election that they still voted Bush because "Kerry is scary"

lazy moochers, just kicking them in the teeth not enough. Of course, their voters aren't supposed to take it personally, just agree as usual with an insult pretend-meant only for the real lazy moochers, but I guess that's harder than usual these days.

The other factor is that many people at that wage level are working part time.

IIRC, the Fed minimum wage is under $8 an hour.

despite our extremely high CoL.

If you make $900 a week or more in CA, your benefit is $450. The median income in CA is around $1200 a week, which means that $450 covers 37% of one’s average income.
