Like several/many people here, it was election integrity and the voting machines that first brought me to DU over 15 years ago.
It's been a long time. Steps have been taken to make our system better than it was, but there is still work to do.
Covid complicates the situation, as does having as ass-wipe for a president who will call the election results into question.
As someone who has been interested and involved in this subject for quite a while, I would like to suggest to others, that the organization Verified Voting is the place to go to learn about this important subject. There is a lot of misinformation and disinformation out there. Verified Voting has a long track record of examining the situation objectively and scientifically and offering real solutions to make our election system safe and accurate.
They have a new release "Verified Voting releases COVID-19 election security recommendations"
So please visit https://www.verifiedvoting.org/ , sign up for their emails, and encourage others to.

(90,616 posts)I was quite involved in the early days, trying to alert and inform my email list, but at a certain point I got confused over which was the good organization and which one had been discredited here.
Recently I was surprised to see an appeal from VV in my in-box, and I will now be more than happy to respond.
