And they are following her, almost bumping her, before they assault her. They seem to be targeting her, why? Young and pretty and female maybe? This is their chance to beat up on a girl "legally"?

EUGENE, Ore. -- The mother of a 14-year-old girl said Eugene police used unnecessary and excessive force in arresting her daughter Saturday night during a downtown riot.

The woman said her daughter kicked a trash can into the street as a police car arrived near W. 7th Ave. and Lincoln Street. She said four officers exited the vehicle and took her daughter to the ground.

"This is why the riots are all happening, right?" she said on Sunday. "Because of police aggressiveness."

She said her daughter was taken to jail and cited for rioting, interfering with police, and resisting arrest. She was then released.

In a statement, Eugene police said the girl threw rocks at officers.

The woman admits that her daughter is not "innocent" in the matter, and hopes she learns something from the incident.
