Nina Turner, the co-chair of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) 2020 presidential campaign, slammed former Vice President Joe Biden in an interview published Monday.
Its like saying to somebody, You have a bowl of shit in front of you, and all youve got to do is eat half of it instead of the whole thing, Turner said of the choice between voting for Biden and President Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election. Its still sh*t.
Turner made the comment for an interview with The Atlantic exploring several factors working in Trumps favor in the 2020 election. Those factors include polls potentially overestimating the number of Biden voters who will show up at the polls as a result of underwhelming enthusiasm for his candidacy. The column similarly quoted Harvard professor Cornel West, who also supported Sanders, slamming the former vice president: We have to be true to ourselves and acknowledge that Biden is a mediocre, milquetoast, neoliberal centrist that weve been fighting against in the Democratic establishment, West said.

Sanders should denounce both Turner and West.

Sour grapes only go so far. Nina Turner has a lot to offer is she can get over her disappointment.

(60,186 posts)I'd say she should inform us exactly who the Democratic Party REALLY preferred, and be quick about pointing this out to us.
Barring that, I don't see where anything she has to say about our choice of nominee should be of any interest whatsoever to Democrats. She is not one, and obviously hates our guts. In that, she has more in common with Tom Cotton, Tucker Carlson and Mitch McConnell than she does with us.

I might, might, be more progressive than Biden, but the most important thing

(53,693 posts)My reading of the early period of the 2016 primaries is that Bernie felt the need to elevate the diversity profile of his staff after his "awkward" encounters with BLM. During that period, Bernie also employed the services of Symone Sanders.

(42,862 posts)Listening to her speak is such a challenge for me. She runs her mouth at a mile-a-minute! Babble-babble-babble! Barely stopping to breathe and always (ALWAYS!) at the same volume used by schoolteachers so that they can be heard above rowdy kids. Almost shouting/screaming... but definitely loud and in-your-face. (As if sue uses sheer VOLUME to make up for actual meaningful content or intelligence.)
I've never seen her give thoughtful consideration or analysis to any question that's been asked of her. Instead, she just searches the file-folder in her brain for the pre-written and very-scripted Green-party position. She's clearly more "revenge" oriented (against the Democratic party) and wants to help Trump as a way to say "I told you so". --- This, by the way, is something that she stole from the Michael Moore playbook: she'll do her best to kneecap and sabotage our party and our candidate, only for the personal pleasure, gratification and satisfaction she'll receive from being able to say "told you so".
I hate her. She's a fucking mess.

(9,445 posts)This is the stuff that makes me wonder if some people are actually reading the policies of the candidates. To claim that having to choose between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is like being told you only have to eat half a bowl of crap is foolish and false. There are a number of thing that Trump is doing that Biden will not do. There are also a number of things Donald Trump is not doing and will not do that Joe Biden will do. There is a really big difference between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
People like Nina Turner need to be challenged by reporters. How is Joe Biden similar to Donald Trump? Have you read the policy sections of Joe Biden's website? Please list the policies of Joe Biden you dislike.
