.... are confronted with considering a Donald Trump Presidential Library, the unveiling of his official portrait at the White House or (on a happier note) whether he should lie in state under the Capitol rotunda in a place made more holy today by John Lewis?

(16,699 posts)Lying in state at the Capitol Rotunda? No embalming procedures will stem the stench of Trump's rotting corpse.
Presidential Library? A deserted Gas Station around the corner from Mar-A-Lago. Won't have any books there.
Presidential Portrait? Perhaps at the Ringling Brother's Museum in Baraboo, Wisconsin to hang it with other famous clowns.

(54,770 posts)he was elected Prez, even if by the deplorables of this country. Im not going to his library, watching his funeral, or missing him. Hes no John Lewis, and 90+% of the deplorables know it.
I bet even GOPers distance themselves from trump quickly.

(54,770 posts)because they were mad about primaries, at least one major Dem continued to bash Obama and Clinton by association right into October 2016 over TPP, complacency from big lead in polls, lies, etc. Hopefully, we wont do that again.
Agree, Electoral College should end, but it wont anytime soon.

As far as the "lie in state," I'm sure St Basil's Cathedral would be more than willing to accommodate.

I honestly mean no offense. A Trump library is about #4,852 on my list of important issues.

(15,805 posts)His base can donate their rent money to build a Trump memorial library if they want to, but how does it cost to put up a storage unit to house all of his collected lies on a thumb drive?

(1,530 posts)....Secret Service protection before and after he goes to prison. But your comment made me wonder about President Andrew Johnson, also impeached, and whether he has a library. Turns out he does, a rather modest one in Tennessee.

I'm going to have to suggest that the "impeached" (but not convicted) standard would preclude any honors for President Clinton, not that there is any other comparison of the two. Bill already has two of the honors that I mentioned and I hope that I live to see the third.

(1,648 posts)And upgrade only for security reasons, not for any comfort reasons for the prisoners and make them live under the same conditions as it was years ago. That would be a fitting end for them.

(89,239 posts)means he should not get any of those honors.
anything concerning him should be in a museum.
And I believe libraries are all done by private funds.

(3,401 posts)... to raise the funds and manage the property, and Trump doesnt have a good record with foundations and I my memory serves correctly, wasnt he prohibited from having another charitable foundation or was that just for New York?
