There is one aspect of trump voters that I could understand

Not that I forgive them because it’s a pretty ignorant point of view. The people who were sick of politics as usual and thought we needed a change. Like I said I can understand that view, but not to the extent of burning the government down with an idiot reality star, but those that would use that reason never thought it thru. For one thing he ran as a Republican and ended up being embraced by the rethug overlords. WTF did they think was going to happen if you’d been watching the rethug congress in action.

Maybe that could be used against entrenched rethugs. It’s all their fault that their glorious leader couldn’t accomplish anything. Wouldn’t work with anything above an amoeba intellect, but maybe some of the poor white people who support him would buy it.

His supporters - except for the rich ones - were too stupid to realize his demonization of everyone but the rich only made things worse them. However, he gave them an enemy they could visualize so they fell for his bullshit hook, line and sinker.

Government “as usual” has never been perfect, and never will be. I can’t think of anything human, especially a human-created institution that is massively large and complex, that has ever been “perfect.” I don’t think any human is perfect, even the best of them.

But I don’t trust the judgment of anyone, right or left, who makes the “we can’t have more government as usual” argument. It either leads to this kind of Trumpian chaos and corruption, or authoritarian regimes hellbent on some ideological ideal (left or right).

I’ll have the usual, please. I’ve had it with the incompetent chaotic mess we have now. Or the authoritarian utopia some envision.
