"Build Back Better" reminds me of melanoma's "Be Best." Maybe it's just all the Bs.

(15,325 posts)His policy proposals under Build Back Better are all that matters & he has left no one out.
I think he should have named it after himself, but that's not Joe's style.

I don't see the big deal.
The contents of this plan is well detailed, covers the smallest voices, & is exactly what America needs to buiild back a much better nation.

(39,343 posts)Sounds pretty good to me. It hits trump and lets everyone else know that we're going to spend on infrastructure. It plays on make it great again and keep it great. Its not great right now, so we must Build Back Better.

(14,565 posts)I have no idea how it became so popular, other than it's incredibly lazy.
This sounds like Chuck Schumer named it. In fact, I'd almost make that the favorite given Schumer's style and suggestions in prior cycles. He can't think of anything that isn't an overly complicated alliteration.
If I were in charge I would never hire someone who relied on alliterations. It would be the immediate litmus test.
If you have to succumb to that route make sure it is no more than two words.

(58,785 posts)not elevated enough, but it turned out to really be a big, revolutionary-big
deal. And after that Truman's "Fair Deal" continuation. I like the aspirational call of Johnson's "Great Society" for his agenda to eventually eliminate poverty and racism better, though.
"Building Back Better" instead of Rebuilding Better almost doesn't make sense, as if they're going to add something later that'll make that "back" indispensible to the meme.
Itm, maybe they also see it quickly becoming BBB as shorthand for many projects, like CCC from the New Deal. That's the best guess I can come up with. Biden's BBB programs discussed 100 years from now the way FDR's are.

Hortensis
(58,785 posts)rewarded the New Dealers by keeping Democrats in control of the WH and both houses of congress for 12 years. AA and others joined to be part of it. I'd have been a passionate New Dealer myself. Just wish they'd come up with a name less card-gamey and more worthy of the great achievements.
Who knows? Maybe people will say that in future when they're reminded with some surprise what BBB stands for.
