My WAG

My wild ass guess is that after Lafayette Square, the military is refusing to do Trump's bidding in America cities. This is why he had to go the hired mercenary route.

If true, this gives me hope when/if his actual coup attempt becomes apparent after the election.

1. Not sure they're mercenaries. Aren't they vile customs and border people?

will this be the end of their little war games or will they move on to Detroit or Chicago or Atlanta where the melanin makes the beat downs a little more palatable to the public.

4. There is NO evidence that Trump is using "hired mercenaries" to attack protesters.

Conflating "DHS hires private security" with "DHS violently responds to protests" is not evidence based.

There IS evidence that Federal officers from multiple agencies are being brought in.

By the definition people seem to be using here (any private sector firm contracted by DHS), the guy who runs the metal detector in the lobby is a "hired mercenary"
